Had lunch with a friend today. It was the first time she saw my house, so she lovingly brought us a gift. I love this flower it is so bright and springy.

I really wish it were spring. I am so done with winter!

Hey Jealousy...

On my way home tonight, I had the song "Hey Jealousy" by the Gin Blossoms in my head. I haven't heard it in a while, and it wasn't on my ipod so I was stuck with the sound of my singing in my head. I always associate people with songs. I think we all do it, but you might not be willing to talk about it.

This song always reminds me of a certain friend. We grew up together, loved together, and watched each other grow up and live incredible lives. But he always had a knack for just randomly showing up on my doorstep after months of not seeing him. A couple of times he asked to crash, a couple of times we just met at the bar, but our friendship has always been about those random moments. And it was all good. It is still all good.

So I am not really sure how this happened, but I got sucked into the dark side. LOL. You got it, FaceBook. I forgot to take a picture today because I spent several hours logged in, trying to figure out who I should friend. So here is a picture of my computer screen and my profile page.

Kiss Me Thru The Phone

Over the past 3+ years of my married life The hubs and I have both travelled extensively for work. First it was me, spending almost a year going to Charlotte for a client every week. Then as soon as I was done traveling The Hubs spent 4 months going to Dallas every week for a client.

His latest travels took him to England all of last week, and then NYC this week. I was driving home from work and heard the new Soulja Boy song "Kiss Me Thru The Phone" on the radio.

The lyrics are dead on:

My latest read. Evernight by Claudia Gray. Same genre as the last set of books I posted, but this one is actually well written and very entertaining. I enjoyed this one much more than the House of Night series. Book 2 comes out in a few months.

I am seriously gonna be reading about Vampires forever!

The Hubs was working in NYC for this week, and since he was in England all last week, he asked me to come stay with him for a few nights. I figured the change of office scenery might not be a bad thing, and if I could run into some partners I needed to get in touch with in NY all the better. Here is some scary weird artwork on the wall of the 14th floor of the W hotel at 49th and Lexington in NYC.

on Monday I left a little late for work. I left the house at 9 am. If you recall it is a 1 hours drive. It was past the time my local radio station announces traffic, so I think it is going to a day unlike the rest and there should be little traffic given the lateness of the morning.

About 10 exits from where I want to be, I start to see signs that the high way is shut down at exit 48A (of course right where I need to get off) due to some accident. I don't have a GPS, and don't really know that area too well, so I make the decision to stay on the highway and get to the exit before the one I wanted to get off at because I know how to get to the office from there. Yum yeah, dumb dumb dumb idea.

Here I am in my car, my office in plain view not 2 miles from where I sat stuck between two exits for the better part of 4 hours. Pictured above are the cars in front of me. Pictured below is the line of cars behind me as reflected in my driver side mirror.
I didn't get to work until 1:30 pm. Serously, sometimes I hate mornings.

So The hubs was still in England for Valentine's day, so my parents came in for the weekend to keep me company. Here is a picture of me and my mom.

It was great to see both mom and dad. It had been since before Christmas. It sucks that they live far away!

In honor of it being Friday the 13th, here is my latest read.

The House of Night Series.

Yes, another vampire series that technically falls into the Young Adult category of fiction.

I read all four books in 4 days.

Would I say I liked them as much as I love the Twilight Saga??

(yes I know, at 30 I should not be obsessed with Young Adult Vampire series)

um... No.

Are they good..... Maybe (they have very bad grammar and are sort of all over the place).

Entertaining...... Definitely.

The next book "Hunted" comes out 3/10. Looks like March will be a good month, a new book and the Twilight Movie on DVD!

(OK....damn I'm pathetic. I admit it ;))

Whenever I see the sun shining from behind the clouds I swear I am seeing God. Anytime I can capture it, I label the picture, " I saw God Today". And as always, I say a prayer of thanks for my amazing life.

It was like a taste of spring today, warm but windy, then rainy. Maybe soon spring will be sprung (although the stupid groundhog said 6 more weeks of winter).

Tonight, I went over to visit a friend of mine, who I haven't seen in a really long time. I mean really long, like year and a half long. So when I invited myself over after getting back in touch, of course CenzLuccsMom said yes. I went over in time to see the boys before bed, they are getting so big. Here are some pictures of them. They were being all cute and showing off. Definitely ladies men!

The most amazing part is that is was like CenzLuccsMom and I had seen each other only weeks ago. We fell right back into step, and it was wonderful to see her, her hubs, and her beautiful boys. That is the mark of true friendship, when time and distance don't mean anything. I am truly lucky to be blessed with such a great friends in my life.

So in case anyone missed it last night, Nick made it through to the top 36. HOLY GUACAMOLE BATMAN! Seriuosly, when in Season 2 Julia DeMato (also from my home town and high school) made it through to the top 10 (all there was then) it was cool. I mean I technically knew her, but not really. With Nick, I mean OMG.... i really know him.. he was my sister's bff for years. He was at my wedding, my whole family loves him. He knows my extended fam and they love him... It is too nuts.

So I don't normally do this.... but please Please please watch American Idol, and vote for Nick Mitchell aka Norman Gentle.

( I figure if everyone is coming out of the woodwork in my small little CT town, I am allowed to since at least Nick was almost part of my family!)

Seriously, have I mentioned I have an awesome husband. He has to leave for England for work tommorrow and will be gone for a whole week. Bummer! I hate when he goes away. He is coming back late on Valentine's day. So... he surprised me tonight with flowers, so I would have something to be happy about while he is gone. How wonderful is that?????

Had to go to Boston for work today. Nothing quite like driving 3 hours, having a 1/2 hour meeting, and then driving home. LOL.

Now I know there are tons of better things in Boston to take pictures of than the highway to get there, but I had so little time. I was in and out in a matter of hours.

Twilight has always been my favorite part of the day. I love how the sky looks right before the sun fully sets. I love how pretty everything looks with the lights on.

Ok.. see the time on the clock. This is pm. This is the time I got home from work on Monday night. Luckily I have the world's best husband. He made dinner, cleaned up the kitchen and did the laundry. Seriously... can it get any better in terms of husbands?

This year my brother hosted, since he has HD. Let me tell you Faith Hill looks old in HD. But the game was awesome! It is fun to go over there cause we get to play with his dog, Gizmo. Isn't he cute? He really did look just like a gremlin when he was little.

Got my hair cut today. This is the new name of my salon, it user to be Bella Rae in Brookfield. Then it merged with another salon and became Twisted.

Every morning that I drive to work, as I pass through Waterbury, CT there is a sight that makes my morning. There is a huge old church, and a 40 foot cross on the hill overlooking the city. This is where I get my morning prayer in, and thank God for my amazing life. In the morning, because of where the sun is, it is always a little hazy, and it is truly beautiful, I always want to pull over and take a picture. too bad it is right at a 3 way merge!
