Hello mojo....

At least that is the name of the color I am calling my hair.. Mojo Red. It just makes me smile.

It's that time of year...

Where my newly founded green thumb gets itchy.. and I have to attempt to make things grow. Maybe it's the sunshine, maybe it's the plants, grass, trees and flowers blooming, but I just have to get gardening. Since I live in a condo, I am restricted to container gardening that pretty much takes over my deck, and makes my table unusable. But that is ok, if I get a fresh tomato... or a sprig of cilantro for my guacamole...or some basil for my fresh pesto.

I have been waiting for the weather to cooperate, and today was sunny and beautiful, so off to Walmart to buy my potting soil I went, and 6 8-quart bags later, we have our garden planted.

I did cheat a little this year and bought a pre sprouted beefsteak tomato plant and a pepper plant, but I can't tell if they are growing or not since I replanted them. Today I planted my seeds for roma tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries, cilantro, basil and parsley. Yum! The thought of it makes my mouth happy.

Here's to happy growing.

Dancing With The Hubs.....

#1 LEARN TO BALLROOM DANCE.

One of my most favorite shows is Dancing with the Stars. I have always wanted to learn, and we had big plans to get lessons for our wedding, but time ran out too quickly, and we wound up with the traditional tick-tock dance as I call it. Oh well.

Flash forward 5 years. After a generous Christmas present from my brother-in-law, here we are learning to dance! It really has been great fun so far. We have learned figures (steps) for the Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Rumba and Hustle. I am slowly learning to let The Hubs lead (I have a problem with giving up control), and we are working together. Luckily, our instructor Brianna, over at Fred Astaire in Brookfield, is awesome and doesn't get too down on us when we trip over each others feet, or screw up the counts.

We keep trying.. maybe if you are lucky... we'll show you our moves.
