In my continued quest for Domestic Godess-dom, I made apple butter today. And of course because I now know how to can things, I canned it. I even made cute little labels.

I love days in NYC. The Hubs and I decided we would go see a show and have dinner at our favorite steakhouse for our anniversary.
We stayed in a Marvelous suite at the W New York Hotel. Now, this suite was a "freebie" because every other time we have stayed at this hotel they have f***ed something up. Usually so severely that they offer us something for free. This time it was the suite. Here is the Hubs on the balcony of our suite.
We were actually sad that it was so chilly this weekend, because it would have been nice to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine.
We love Sparks Steakhouse, with it's mobster history and steak you can cut with a butter knife. I finally talked the Hubs into letting me ask the waiter to take a picture. The picture isn't the greatest, but I finally have a shot to prove we ate at Sparks.
After dinner, it was off to a show. I picked the show Oleanna, a drama, mostly because I have a huge crush on Bill Pullman. I didn't bother to look up the plot line, and that was a mistake. Overall we didn't really like the show, but I still got to be 100 feet from Bill Pullman!
Here we are trying to take our picture before the show started. We of course got yelled at by the usher whose name was Cookie. Relax Cookie, the show hasn't started and I am not trying to take a picture of the set or anything...
um yeah.... about that...

Today is our 4 year Anniversary! The hubs is amazing, and bought me flowers!
We didn't go too crazy today celebrating, since we have plans to go into the city on Saturday night.
In other news... it snowed all day today!
And I finally made my applesauce. It was amazing! I even tried my hand at canning! That was pretty easy too! I felt so accomplished afterwards!

It is one of my favorite days in the Fall.... Apple Picking Day. So we saddled up the troops to head over to the local orchard.
It took 20 minutes just to get down the street to park. The weather was beautiful!
We met up sith my friend and her twins, who are now two months old. They are getting so big!
There were four kinds of apples today: Mutsu, Cortland, Golden Blush and Ida Red. So we go up to the hut to pay, and I am looking at the bag sizes and see the small says 5-7, the middle says 10-12, and the large says 20-25. I am thinking apples, so I talk the Hubs into the large bag. Which cost a fortune! Well, I turned out to be the dummy, when I realized it was pounds and I now had 30 lbs of apples!
Blue Jay also has a pumpkin patch, and I love pictures with pumpkins!
It was a great day with great company. Now what to do with 30 lbs of apples?

The Hubs and I are both graduates of Western Connecticut State University, and because we have fond memories of the school, we are also donors to the annual fund. So once a year, we get invited to view one of the football games from the President's box.
This year we were invited for the game against Rowan University. It was a great night for football.
The cheerleaders looked good....although they do this weird Jazz hands thing after each cheer which I found kind of odd.
We joked with the University Presidant and his wife that maybe we would bring the Colonials some luck as they were having a tough season at 0-4. But after 5 minutes into the first quarter, they were down 21-0.
Unfortunately, the game came to a sad end, with Rowan winning 72-14. Ouch!

Tori Amos - God
So this week we found out we are not pregnant - again. Bummer. So I have been sort of pissed off at God, I mean seriously, what is the problem here? And of course, because I was mad at God, I had the Tori amos song "God" in my head, with it's key line "God sometimes you just don't come through".
Luckily, as I mentioned in a few posts on my other blogs, I have amazing friends, and one who reminded me that maybe this isn't about God failing me, and there are upsides to this! So bye bye Tori Amos... time to get moving....
GOD
"God sometimes you just dont come through
God sometimes you just dont come through
Do you need a woman to look after you
God sometimes you just dont come through
You make pretty daisies pretty daisies love
Ive gotta find what youre going about things here
A few witches burning gets a little toasty here
I gotta find why you always go when the wind blows
God sometimes you just dont come through
God sometimes you just dont come through
Do you need a women to look after you
God sometimes you just dont come through
Tell me youre crazy maybe then Ill understand
You got your 9 iron in the back seat just in case
Heard yoou youve gone south well babe you love your new 4 wheel
I gotta find why you always go when the wind blows
[give not thy strength unto women
Nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings]
Will you even tell her if you decide to make the sky fall
Will you even tell her if you decide to make the sky
God sometimes you just dont come through
God sometimes you just dont come through
Do you need a women to look after you
God sometimes you just dont come through"

I have been dying to get to Citi Field, the home of my baseball team, the NY Mets.
So, of course I waited until the last home game of the season to get tickets. It turned out to be a great day for baseball, not too hot and not too cold!
I love the Hubs' camo Mets hat, it cracks me up! Mine is pink, because I am a girl. LOL. Both of our hats were gifts from my bro a few years ago, and I love them!
The stadium was very nice, still all shiny and new...
We had seats in the upper deck (I was being cheap) along the first baseline (if you couldn't tell from the pictures)
Mr. Met came up for a visit and was tossing out shirts, of course none got tossed our way. :(
Here is a picture of my man (David Wright, my sports crush!) at bat. He didn't do anything too exciting today, but the zoom lens on my camera brought me nice and close.
We got to see Nelson Figueroa pitch the frst shut out in Citi Field history.
And here I am with the winning team :)

As I mentioned in this post, I reconnected with some old friends on Facebook. It turned out that where I was facilitating training was only two towns away from where they live! So we decided to get togeher for dinner. It was amazing the see these guys after 12 years. Hopefully it won't be another 12 before we do it again!

As a team-building, network event, the new hires get broken into teams, each assigned a bandana of a different color to compete in a sports challenge. My team was light blue. They had to create a team name "The Mighty Smurfs", and a team cheer:
"La la lalala la la la lala la, La la lalala la la la lala la, We're true! We're Blue! We're here to audit you! we may be new, but we'll show you, what a Might Smurf can do!"
Some of the activities included...
Dodgeball
Putter Golf...
and the long jump!
After all 12 events, my team came in 2nd place! go Mighty Smurfs!
