Got my hair colored and cut today. I love it. Unfortunately you can also see my lovely burn on my lip. I was attempting to test some shell pasta for doneness, and it was upside down on the spoon. Of course, I didn't realize it was full of boiling water. Lost a layer of skin on my lip and have a lovely trail of burn down my chin. At least I love my hair!

Stopped by my friend CenzLuccsMom's house tonight for some dinner and conversation.
I got a sneak peek at Baby Bean's closet! That little girl already has quite the wardrobe!

Another trip to Boston...
Here is a shot of the view from my hotel room window. I was looking out over the Prudential building..
I met a friend for dinner, and we did some walking by the Boston Common, and the State House. Here I am by the "General Hooker Entrance". As my friend put it, the specific hooker entrance is located around the back.
At the time we happened by the State House, there were several local tv news crews filming. Of course we had to check it out, and it turned out they had gotten word the interim replacement for Senator Kennedy would be announced the next morning at 11am.
Here is a pic of my friend walking right into my photo, and then another one where I tried to capture a news crew:
And well, because we could, we took a walk over to John Kerry's house. It was large, gorgeous, and funny because there was a UPS note on the window by the front door. Sorry the picture is horrible, but I had the flash off as to not draw too much attention to myself.
After a walk back through the public garden, we ended our adventures for the night.
I also took a picture of my hotel room view the next morning..

I happen to really like all of the handmade jewelry created by Monica over at Moon Over Maize
So I bought myself a new piece (well technically the Hubs bought it for me). Moonstone and Emerald, and the lotus flower as a sign of fertility.

No picture today. I spent 12 hours scrapbooking. It was a very productive day, I finished my Venice album and actually started my 2009 album in 2009!

My dear friend Connie had a giveaway for her birthday and, YEAH! I won!
What did I win? This gorgeous handmade necklace.
I have gotten tons of compliments on it. So if you want your own, go check out the Moon Over Maize store.

The Hubs and I decided it was such a nice day out we should go to the "Taste of Danbury". It was being held on the green in city center, and there was entertainment, and food. We thought it was going to be a sampling of all the local restaurants, but it turned out to be a sampling of local vendors. Weird. It was also political campaign central. There was a cookbook I wanted to buy, but it supported the candidate running against my neighbor for Town Clerk. So I couldn't buy it since I support my neighbor!
Here is a pic of the green, the cover band was actually pretty good, although I hs no idea who or what we being covered. There were lots of people singing, so it must have been something semi famous:
Aren't we soo cute!
The mayor was out getting trying to scrounge up some votes:
And this guys outfit just cracked me up:

From This Moment - Shania Twain
So I have babies on the brain most of the time. Why you ask? Well, go here, or here, or here.
I was in the car the other day and Shania Twain's "From This Moment" came on, and all I could think about was how much this song could represent the birth of a new child. (well maybe except for the verse that starts.. "I give my hand to you"), but look at the lyrics, it completely reminds me of how all my firends who are having babies tell me their lives were changed.
"(I do swear that I'll always be there.
I'd give anything and everything and I will always care.
Through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow,
for better for worse, I will love you with
every beat of my heart.)
From this moment life has begun
From this moment you are the one
Right beside you is where I belong
From this moment on
From this moment I have been blessed
I live only for your happiness
And for your love I'd give my last breath
From this moment on
I give my hand to you with all my heart
Can't wait to live my life with you, can't wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you
From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment on
You're the reason I believe in love
And you're the answer to my prayers from up above
All we need is just the two of us
My dreams came true because of you
From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment
I will love you as long as I live
From this moment on"

Had dinner with a friend of mine from college. She has been very supportive as I work through my infertility issues. She happens to be pretty religious like I am so she offered me her prayer shawl, that was made by her mother and her prayer bag full of goodies including micraculous medals, angels, St. Anthony oil, and rosary beads she bought in Assisi, Italy.
It was an amazing gift and I one I will treasure for as long as I am borrowing them. Thank you!

It was Jack versus the puppy carrier. There are zippers on both ends. One side zips all the way down, and the other half way. So my sis gets Jack inside and zips up the side that fully unzips and then sticks her hand in the half un-zipped side thinking he would just stick his head out. Well he is so little, he just climbed right out. It was quite funny to watch!

Labor Day BBQ at my in-laws! Not just any BBQ, but one with steamers and lobster sliders. Here is a pic of me and The Hubs
Here is a cute picture of Jack, who you all met on the 29th:
He loved my in-laws big fenced in yard. He was running all over the place.
And here is a picture of my in-law's Alaskan Malamute, Fiona. She was so good and got to come out and play with us, but I could only get a picture of her ears up when she was in the pen.

I love my iphone, and I especially love the "Words With Friends" App that I discouvered courtesy of my friend Connie. Right now I have 5 games going. I am addicted!
Amazing Friends
The last two years the Hubs and I have been dealing with infertility. After two miscarriages, and a PCOS diagnosis, we continue to plug along and try try again. I have been blessed to find an amazing circle of friends, both my "in person" friends and my internet friends, who have gone through similar situations and have given me great hope for the future as they all have happy endings.
Recently, I received the greatest gift. A friend loaned me her prayer shawl and prayer bag (full of lots of prayer goodies, including angels, miraculous medals, prayer cards etc!) to help me in my process. It is truly an amazing gift and I am so lucky to have such a great friend. I feel really blessed.
So today I am thankful for all of my friends who have supported me on this journey! Here's hoping my happy ending comes soon too!

Chose to be happy (I Love This...)
A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.
As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.
'I love it,' he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
'Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait.'
'That doesn't have anything to do with it,' he replied.
'Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.
Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away. Just for this time in my life.
Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.
So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories!
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

Decided to meet up with a friend who works for the same company out of Minneapolis for dinner. Here is a picture of downtown from the light rail:
Dinner at Seven.
And after dinner we got the special treat of going up into our office to look out a conference room window and see Target Field. Just to the left and behind the parking garage.

Decided all work and no play makes my staff and I DULL! So we took in a Twins game at the Metrodome. The 14th to last game in the Metrodome. Next year, Target Field and outdoor baseball. Here I am in front of the Metrodome.
Finally a picture where you can actually see the color of my hair, so I blew it up a little bit for you all.

It was a good game, The Twins came back to win in the bottom of the 9th with 2 out.
